AFTER three consecutive defeats, St Pat's got back to winning ways thanks to a goal in each half from Mark Quigley and Keith Fahey.

With just two wins in 16 league games and just one point from their last five matches, the home side provided stern opposition for long periods but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal.

Both sides hit the woodwork in the early stages as Romanian Andrei Georgescu struck a 30-yard thunderbolt off the St Pat's crossbar before, at the other end, Trevor Molloy's header hit the post.

However, Bray failed to heed that warning and, on 19 minutes were punished as Mark Foley's clever pass found the unmarked Mark Quigley who gave 'keeper Chris O'Connor no chance from close range.

Quigley, Molloy and David Mulcahy all missed chances to extend the St Pat's advantage before their second goal arrived just before the hour.

Again Molloy was involved as he played the ball back to defender John Frost whose inch-perfect cross was headed into the roof of the net by ex-Drogheda man Fahey.

Bray gave themselves some hope three minutes later when Georgescu finished beautifully past the advancing Barry Ryan, and the striker came closest to grabbing an equaliser but was denied by Ryan.
