Barry Murphy's last-minute penalty save from Paul Crowley rescued a point for Bohemians at Richmond Park in what could be Pat Fenlon's last game as the Phibsboro side's manager.

A low-key Dublin derby culminated with ref Richie Winter pointing to the spot after Ger O'Brien took down Shane McFaul, but Murphy denied Crowley.

The game looks likely to be Fenlon's last as Bohemians boss. The Dubliner is currently engaged in talks with his board to thrash out the details of his departure. A spokesman said that further news is not likely until Monday.

A lively opening saw Derek Doyle go close for Pat's on eight minutes. He collected Anto Murphy's crisp pass from the right after Bohs failed to deal with Gary Rogers' long kick out. Doyle crashed a right-footed drive toward goal but agonisingly saw his effort slide inches wide of the post.

Doyle had another effort on 17 minutes. His strike from an acute angle on the right was on target but Bohs keeper Murphy was well placed to make the vital save.

Bohs suffered a blow on 23 minutes when the experienced Ollie Cahill went off with a hamstring injury, to be replaced by Lee Dixon.

Murphy was a busy man for a good spell after that as Pat's enjoyed an upper hand in proceedings.

On 30 minutes he saved Paul Crowley's shot, which took a deflection off Danny North.

David McMillan headed over from Stephen Bradley's free kick on 33 minutes before Murphy saved Ian Bermingham's shot.

Bohs' game plan took a battering before the second half even started. Sub Dixon was clearly limping as the teams came out for the second half and was replaced by Gary Burke before the game recommenced. Then Killian Brennan shipped a knock and was replaced by youngster Keith Buckley.

Both sides had chances in a lively end to the game - Steven Traynor for Bohs and David McMillan for Pat's were amongst the best - but Murphy rescued a point for Bohs when he saved Crowley's penalty in added time.

Ref Winter looked like he was sending O'Brien off when he flashed him a yellow and then a red card for a second offence, but it was pointed out that O'Brien had not been booked beforehand.
