St Patrick's Athletic progressed to the first round proper of the Enda McGuill Cup following a 2-0 win over Crumlin Utd this evening in Richmond Park.

Saints took an early lead in the game, Lee Roche superbly chipping over the keeper from the corner of the penalty box on 13 minutes.

In spite of their dominance throughout the game Saints made heavy weather of the victory, missing plenty of chances before Aidan Roche sealed the victory with just three minutes remaining.

Crumlin Utd did create their own share of chances, hitting the angle of the goal from 25 yards and having a goal disallowed for offside, both in the first half.

Ian Maher also had the ball in the net on 73 minutes but his strike was also disallowed for offside.

Aidan Roche's goal finished off a fine move, a ball played forward by Clarke, headed towards the wing by Armstrong and a pin-point cross by Fitzpatrick past the goalkeeper and to Roche who tapped the ball in from four yards out.
