DEFENDING CHAMPIONS LONGFORD FACE UCD

Defending champions Longford Town will have home advantage when they take on UCD in the third round of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.

This evening's draw in Dublin threw up just one other all Premier League clash with pacesetters Cork City facing Finn Harps while Co Louth rivals Drogheda United and Dundalk will meet in perhaps the tie of the round. Dundalk will have the opportunity to gain revenge on their neighbours who knocked them out of the cup last year.

Elsewhere, the cup represents the only piece of silverware realistically available to Shamrock Rovers, after having eight league points deducted and crashing out of the League Cup, and Roddy Collins' side will be expected to safely negotiate Douglas Hall.

Bohemians will face Cup specialists Wayside Celtic, who accounted for Cobh Ramblers in the last round, and Bray Wanderers take on Cherry Orchard.
