Shels Too Good For Saints

St Patrick's put up a brave fight at Tolka Park tonight, but Shelbourne's experience told in the end, with Gary O'Neill's 75 minute goal the difference between the two teams.

Without the suspended Robbie Doyle and Sean O'Connor, the injured Chris Armstrong and Alan Reilly, and Ger Rowe, manager John McDonnell looked to the Under 21 squad and to Robbie Smith and Christy Doran to complete his squad.

With no recognised strikers, Glen Larsson fulfilled the role, giving another excellent performance.

Saints are still no mathematically safe, and will be looking for 3 points next Friday at home to UCD.
