Saints 1-2 Shamrock Rovers

Pete Mahon's league leaders had a rare off-night this evening at Richmond Park as two goals from Thomas Stewart saw Shamrock Rovers gain revenge for the Saints victory at Tallaght earlier in the season.

Despite the win for second placed Dundalk, Saints remain on top however and will look to bounce back with two games in quick succession next week away to UCD and home to the Lilywhites.

A 90th minute Alex Williams goal from a free kick was too late to spur a revival for Saints and Michael O'Neill's side have closed the gap to Saints to two points as one of the most exciting league seasons for many years continues at a breathtaking pace.
