Saints 2-0 Longford
Pete Mahon's Saints continued their preparation for the 2010 season with a two goal victory over Lonford Town in Richmond Park tonight.
The first half was a scrappy affair with neither side creating any chances of note.
The second half was littered with substitutions and it was two of the Saints' replacements that made the differece.
The first goal came from the spot after Derek Doyle was taken down by the Longford Town goalkeeper when clean through on goal. Ryan Guy converted the penalty to put the Saints a goal ahead.
Gareth Coughlan was one of 13 new signings in action for the home side and he made it two nil with minutes remaining. A ball into the box was flicked on by Paul Byrne and Coughlan slotted the ball home neatly to complete the scoring.
Saints: Rogers; Lynch (Pender), Guthrie, Kenna, Bermingham; McAllister (Guy), S. Byrne, Sinnott (Mulcahey), Cash (Coughlan); Faherty (P. Byrne), Williams (D. Doyle).
