ST PAT'S ANNOUNCE MANAGER
St Patrick's Athletic have appointed former club captain John McDonnell as the new first team manger.
John, who won the league title with the Saints in 1990 and 1996, succeeds Eamonn Collins who resigned over 3 weeks ago. John has appointed John Toal as his assistant.
St Pat's made the announcement this evening after reviewing over 30 applications.
John, who assisted the Ireland Under 20 team at the recent World Cup Finals, was highly recommended by Ireland first team manger Brian Kerr. John has gained experience with Shelbourne, Dublin City and Newry Town.
John will take charge for Friday's visit of Dublin City.
