PAT’S HOLD PRESS BRIEFING AHEAD OF DUBLIN DERBY

This afternoon at the Hilton Hotel, Kilmainham St Patrick's Athletic manager Jeff Kena along with players Ryan Guy and Stuart Byrne met members of the media ahead of the club's match with Shamrock Rovers on Saturday night.

Jeff Kenna outlined some of his selection problems he is facing as he prepares for the game – with striker Mark Quigley out with a broken jaw he would normally have the option of playing Jamie Harris up front but with central defender David Partridge suspended, Harris might have to revert to his normal place in the back four.

The manager stressed the importance of making amends for the poor performance away to Drogheda just before the break.

Stuart Byrne highlighted how he is looking forward to playing in the Dublin derby – they don't come much tougher than Rovers and he expects no quarter to be given by either side.

Again he reiterated the feeling amongst the players of the need to put in a good performance especially for the many disappointed Pat's fans who travelled up to Drogheda.

Ryan Guy was hoping that the break this year might have a positive effect on the players. Last year the team lost a bit of form when they came back after the break but this year he is hoping for a reversal of fortunes.

When reminded of his hat-trick against Rovers in the league last year Ryan admitted that a goal would be a perfect way to celebrate the 4th of July and America's Independence Day.

Manager Jeff kenna joked that if Ryan managed to repeat his hat-trick on Saturday that he would personally pay for a 4th of July fireworks display at Richmond Park!
