ST PATS PILOT SOCCER COURSE FOR SCHOOLS

St Patrick's Athletic are currently piloting a soccer skills coaching course at St Lorcan's primary school in Palmerstown.

Delivered on a weekly basis by qualified St Pats coaches, the course teaches the basics of the game - passing, dribbling, heading, tackling and shooting - in a fun but challenging way.

"It would be great to see school coaching sessions like these offered by the club on a much wider scale", said Saints' coach Anthony Bailey.

"The interest is definitely there in the schools and something like this would also be a big help to a League of Ireland club, like St Pats, in building a stronger support base in the surrounding areas".

Based on the success of the pilot course and on resources available, the club would hope to extend the course to other schools in the area of south West Dublin in the new school year.
