REDS ON THE RISE – U17 TAFFE CUP

U17 Taffe Cup
St Patrick's Athletic 3 Ballyoulster United 2

The 17s found themselves behind from early on when Chris O'Keefe stole in to guide the ball home to the delight of the Kildare side.

The Saints kept to their game plan and two strikes in quick succession had them in front at the break. Conor Langhan netted the first and the inspired Gary Gannon gave Pats the lead.

In the 2nd half Pat's Craig Donohoe missed a gilt edged chance to seal the win missing from twelve yards when Pats had been awarded a penalty kick.

However David Morgan did net a third when he rifled home the rebound from Gary Gannon's fierce shot which had been brilliantly saved by Ciaran Scanlon.

Despite Ballyoulster's Niall Ferry's goal in the dying minutes, it was never enough to deny the Inchicore club their second cup of the day.

Congratulations to both teams and managers, well done all.
