DUNBOYNE DONE OVER

St Patrick's Athletic Under 16A's maintained their run of form of late in their tie against Dunboyne last weekend recording a 2-1 win. It could have been so much more but for wasteful finishing by the Pats forwards.

They did manage to make the breakthrough in the opening minutes when Glen Murphy slotted home. Their failure to convert the further chances they created was punished in the dying minutes of the first half when Dunboyne were awarded a penalty. It was cooly despatched sending Pats keeper Luke Byrne the wrong way.

The second half was more of the same. Pats dominating possession and creating goalscoring opportunties but failing to take them. However top scorer Glen Murphy finally bagged a second and the deserved winner to keep the 16A's push for promotion alive.
