LOCAL SCHOOLCHILDREN TAKE ON TARGET CHALLENGE

Children at Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal School in Inchicore Village had a chance to show off their shooting skills this morning when the club visited their school with the St Pat's ‘target shot challenge'.

Up to 180 children and quite a few of their teachers lined up to give it a go and take a shot.

While friendly competition between class teams is encouraged the challenge is not really about winning or scoring goals it's about having fun, taking part and keeping active.

Jason Gavin and the club had previously visited the school shortly before Christmas as part of a healthy eating promotion.

The club visit with the inflatable is meant as a fun activity but also serves as a useful reminder that children should also keep active as part of enjoying a healthy and balanced diet.
