CHRISTMAS ACTION

With the winter break finally over our youth teams will be back in action this weekend, weather permitting.

Over the Christmas break some of our teams were in action. The Under 14's played in Crumlin United's Invitational Tournament on Crumlin's astro pitch.

They qualified in 2nd place from their group behind Crumlin on goal difference to set up a semi-final with Arklow Town.

In their group games Pats defeated the Wicklow Development squad 3-0, drew 0-0 with Crumlin and then earned another 3-0 win over Corduff.

The semi final saw Pats dominate the 1st half and take a 2-0 lead but Arklow pegged a goal back to set up a nervy finish.

The final was entertaining as Crumlin and Pats battled it out but again nothing could separate the two teams. The Saints won the penalty shoot out with Dean Bollard netting the decisive penatly.

Brian Gardiner's under 16's also saw action over the break and took on Leicester Celtic on their astro pitch. In a competitive game and missing a few players they found themselves 3-1 down. However a brave last 15 minutes saw them net twice and earn a deserved three all draw.
