LATE LYNCH GOAL CLOSES TITLE GAP

A 92nd Damien Lynch goal moved The Saints to within seven points of league leaders Bohemians.

A disciplined Sligo frustrated the hosts for long periods and it was only in the last fifteen minutes when Pats looked like breaking the deadlock.

The Saints had three penalty appeals turned down in the closing stages before Lynch stumbled the ball home from two yards after Sligo keeper Richard Brush spilled a Keith Fahey volley to give the home side a one nil victory.
