NEWS ON LIAM GEORGE

As the English Nationwide season draws to an end, it has been a disappointing one for Liam George and his York City, as they drop out of English football, finishing last in Division 3.

It's been disappointing on a number of fronts for the ex-Saint who struggled with injuries that curtailed his season, though he did score 3 goals in 14 appearances. He sat out the majority of the season with shin splints, but made a dramatic come-back recently, scoring on his return!

This week York manager Chris Brass has offered George an extension to his one-year contract which is due to expire next weekend.

George, 25, was signed by Eamonn at the beginning of 2003 making 7 appearances and scoring one goal in the League Cup.

An offer came in from York for whom he impressed in a pre-season friendly against Leeds, and George exited Richmond midway through the season.
