U 16 Squad Trip To UK

Under 16 Manager Brian Dalton is pleased to announce details of his Squad's attractive Pre Season Trip to the UK. The Players and Management are travelling to Middlesbrough to play a friendly game against the Premiership Club's Under 16 Academy Squad, in addition a game against Newcastle United's Academy has also been arranged.

This extremely prestigious trip has come about following ongoing discussions with Middlesbrough FC following the Senior Squad's Pre Season training schedule in Middlesbrough in February.

Brian is extremely grateful to John McDonnell for his assistance in arranging an introduction with Norman Handy who heads up the Middlesbrough Academy and is hopeful that this initiative will result in a possible further link up with Middlesbrough's Underage Academy for the Saints.

'This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our young players to play against some of the best players in England at their own age level, we are very hopeful that this will be the start of a longterm relationship with Middlesbrough FC' said Brian.

The squad depart on Fri Aug 19 and return on Sun Aug 21, the total cost of the trip has been funded by the players themselves.

The 15 man squad will be accompanied by Brian, Asst Manager John Mahon, Coach Ray Connolly and Liaision Officer Billy Murphy.
