O'LEARY SAINTS' SAVIOUR

OUR Thirteen's gave another encouraging display away from home against Ratoath Harps. In the first half they had the better of the exchanges and could have been a goal up in the opening minutes but Karl Tims was denied by a fine 1 on 1 save.

The Harps went a goal up after 15 minutes with a well worked goal but the Saints almost equalised straight away. A Glen Carroll free-kick was headed goalwards by Karl Tims only to be cleared off the line.

The second half saw the Saints dominate apart from a quick counter-attack which Martin Carroll did well to save and by pushing the ball onto the post and then collect the rebound.

The Saints were denied by refereeing calls as the game closed in on the final whistle - Keifer Byrne's overhead goal was denied by a tight offside and when Eoin Byrne and Karl Tims were both stopped by 1 on 1 saves by the The Ratoath keeper outside the box, which the referee incredibly failed to spot it looked like it wasn't to be their day.

That is until great play released Derek Warren down the left and his left-footed cross found Danny O'Leary ghosting in to side foot home and give way to joyous celebrations and his trade mark Russian dance.
